Togetherness?
Togetherness. It is something that is hard for many teens these days to understand. Many suffer from divorced parents. Many fight with their significant other constantly. But what about unity and togetherness as a whole. High school is like a dog house. Eat or be eaten they say; but why I ask you? Why does it have to be that way? Can't we make a difference. Who's to say that the captain of the football team can date the girl who walks through the halls and people don't even glance her way? Who's to say that the President of the Chess Club can't be Prom King? Why do we stereotype. We all have our insecurities. If you ask anyone out there, the girl you think has it all, to honestly answer what she doesn't like about herself, I'm sure she has a list of them. So, instead of pushing people aside, sorting people into groups, why don't we mix them together, make them work in harmony? Our society makes it seem as though it is impossible for a boy who has acne and a girl who isn't a size 2 to be considered cool. Our society is so wrong. Just because the cool kids seem glamorous, does not mean that they're perfect. You're perfect, because you are you. Every person has their own quality that they don't like. Every person has that one thing that they want to change about themselves. Why are we only focusing on the negatives though? Why don't we focus on the positives? Because it only seems to be what is on the outside that counts. Next time you go to make a friend, I dare you to not judge a book by it's cover. I bet you'll be blown away at what you will find. High school is eat or be eaten. If we are all going through it, we'll be sitting down at the table together. Stop judging others. We can all get along. You'd be amazed at what we can accomplish.
